The trug has been traditionally crafted for over two hunderd years. The aspen boards are steamed and bent into shape while the rim and handle are made of willow. The wood is not oiled or varnished or treated in any way so that over time they gain a beautiful patina which adds to their charm. While the trug is extremely light it is also extremely strong which makes it very practical.
A trug is tradionally a garden tool but it has a myriad of uses - it can hold flowers, fruit, magazines, provide a place for the cat to nap or fill it with bread, wine, cheese and grapes for a picnic.
