Hand thrown on the potters wheel in brutalist clay and doubled dipped in a bespoke Thea glaze.

Pōuriuri means darkest green in te reo Māori, te moana pōuriuri - like the darkest part of the ocean. This green is true dark green.

Aumoana means blue clay or oceanic in te reo Māori. This glaze is a stain glaze and slightly translucent to show the natural texture of the clay.

Kirikiri is a subtle glaze that plays with the brutalist clay, bringing out the natural elements of the clay. Kirikiri in te reo Māori means shore and sand and is a perfect representation of that.

Hōrua means baked kōkōwai in te reo Māori, kōkōwai is a deep red brown earth pigment, culturally and spiritually important to māori, used in decoration and ceremony. Hōrua is inspired by kōkōwai and this glaze is a celebration of wild uku/clay and earth pigments. It is a deep red glaze with chocolate brown stain glaze.

The brutalist clay is a hard waring clay, that has a light feel and concrete look.
The small mug are almost half the size of the large mugs, they are around 7cm tall and 7cm wide, perfect for small hot drinks, like long black or as part of a tea set.

All Thea ceramics are hand made so sizes and colours vary, they are dishwasher safe and are intended for everyday use.
